The Optic 15 is a bench-top flat lapping and polishing machine for the high-precision finishing of sealing faces on valve discs, valve seats, mechanical seals and other metallic sealing components. Lapping pate oustide diameter: <15" (380 mm). Its rigid stainless steel construction ensures stable, accurate and repeatable machining.
The Optic 15 features an automatically driven 'copper composite' lapping plate with three conditioning rings. Fully adjustable retainer arms keep the conditioning rings in position, maintaining a flat lapping surface and ensuring consistent surface quality and excellent finishing results.
Optional monochromatic light and optical flat for accurate inspection and verification of sealing surface flatness after the lapping process.
The monochromatic light provides a single-wavelength light source, while the precision optical flat is manufactured with a flatness accuracy of approximately 25 nanometres. Together, they allow fast and reliable measurement of surface flatness, ensuring the highest sealing quality.
